Tough loss, good effort

Nov 27, 2019, 1:40 AM

Executed poorly down the stretch. Had a chance to steal one from a good team and lost that opportunity. Their vets made the plays late.

Yes I agree. Their experience showed for sure late. Need another decent big like Bahre, and couple more guards like Hunter and Trapp. We will be good once we get those guys back.
We need that Minnesota win next week to make up for this loss.

At Minny is winnable

But it won't be easy.

Injuries aside, the idea is not having to "steal one".

Agreed, but down 4 players

Playing a ranked team puts you in a position of stealing one.

They made plays for sure but it seems to be the BB way to lose the close game. Even against TCU they had 2 free throws to win it. I want to think it's because we are young but we always find a way to lose the close games every year.

All the close losses are frustrating

Bothered me last year starting 4 seniors more than last night. Last night we just didnt execute late. I can live with young guys learning to do that, for a while. Have a harder time with vets who should know how.

Nice to see someone on this board that looks at the whole picture. It was a very good effort by a team not very deep in experience against a team very deep in experience. This loss won't do a lot of harm in the Tiger hopes for a bid come March. Most people who complain here will never be happy, no matter who is the Head Coach or if Clemson were to finish the season with only 1 loss while still winning a National Championship. They'll complain that the HC should still be fired for incompetence.

It was a tough and well played game that our abundance of Freshmen and Sophs will learn from and will pay dividends in the future.

Minnesota will be beatable, but once again, our young guys are going to get a taste of Big 10/Midwest basketball. They play tough and fill the arenas. It will be a raucus crowd. If the young guys don't get intimidated, they can win there in that old barn and raised floor.
