The Coastal regions are great, but...

anyone who has never taken advantage of an opportunity to check-out places like Jones Gap or hike/backpack the Foothills Trail around Lake Jocassee up to Sassafras Mountain is missing out.

with the lake, and the chapel at the top of the hill. Also nearby is Twin Falls. Oh and Bob's Place (a different Bob), which burned a few years ago. Did they rebuild and reopen?

Fripp Island. It is a private island, and we have a home on

the island.
Beautiful scenery with wildlife everywhere. Alligators and deer are abundant. Since the island is private, there is only one week a year with a heavy crowd, and that is the Fourth of July week. Some of the homes on the island are huge.
My wife and I were married on Wardles Landing, a long fishing pier on the island.
At night, It is cool to be on our second story screened porch watching deer stroll through our yard.

Deer were strolling through my yard this morning on the way to eat my garden. NOT a pretty site!

I was in staff at Camp McCall, too. In 74 and 75 before freshman and sophomore years. Very special.
