I agree when you find one that makes them right. There is a couple of them in the Lexington area here who does not make them so well. But when made right, they are the best!

Buy a flight, see morbidtiger list.
Only one aspect of the misery out here.. smoky hot air, expensive everything, no decent bbq (tritip is good, but hard to find anything smoked with a good bark), no biscuits outside of chik fil a.

Why do you bring up Biscuitville? Only thing most of us in SC know about them is that they're not here. Closest one to Clemson is east of Charlotte.
Hardee's is also a location thing. The best biscuits I ever had was from the one at I-26 and Dorchester in Charleston but they got closed down due to selling drugs. I have never found another Hardee's that even comes close with biscuits.

Not a fan, I find them to be a bit too crunchy for my tastes. Now I do love the wife's made by scratch biscuits at home.

If you ever live outside of the Southern bubble, you miss the heck out of Bojangjes. I’d given left babymaker to have a player of Cajun fried chicken with dirty rice, pintos, and a biscuit.

After several decades of buying Church's chicken they screwed up a couple of times and gave us good biscuits. Most of the time their biscuits are like hockey pucks and they won't even soften by nuking them.

This is the truth . I love Bojangles chicken and biscuits.I lived for a solid year in the Far West in the mid 90s and I gained a greater appreciation for Southern cooking after not being able to get it.

Hardees recipe
Aug 8, 2018, 6:47 PM
|
|
This recipe is as close as you can get to Hardees:
1. 4 cups self rising flour 2. 1 tbsp baking powder 3. 1 tbsp sugar 4. 2/3 cup Crisco 5. 2 cups cold buttermilk
Mix ingredients together in bowl until thoroughly combined, place dough on floured surface ( DO NOT KNEAD) roll out dough to about 1 inch. Cut biscuits with biscuit cutter, place touching on a greased baking sheet. Brush tops of biscuits with melted butter, place in 400 preheated oven, bake until golden grown on top.
Works every time.

Not as good as my biscuits. My granny would flip in her grave if I bought biscuits. Biscuits gotta be home made.
