Tiger football question. Would you have designed runs for TL or not?

Oct 5, 2019, 1:38 PM

I think we should preserve his health better and have him only run when the play breaks down or he improvises. What say you...designed plays or not?

Yes or No

NOoo, but DW4 ran designated plays as well as TB..

so guess TL will run too.

Yes because our offense has gotten so

Predictable and stale it’s the only way we can run the ball.

I say this every September. I want to see us bring back those orbital motion option pop pass so we can keep opposing LBs more honest.

Yeah we need to be less predictable and keep TL healthy imho. He needs to work on play action passing in the offseason. Although, there isn't much of that in the shotgun. Who knows? Just don't like those needless hits with all of the weapons we have.

I would. If the defense has to respect that aspect, I think it slows them down. Any little hesitation by the defense, makes him safer in the pocket. I think that more than offsets the likelihood of him being injured running. He also throws well on the move so I wouldn't mind seeing some designed roll outs as well.

I think we have to have some. But for him to run more than the starting tailback is terrible.

Yes. Would I have as many? Probably not***

Definitely not. Comparing TL to DW4 does not compute because DW4 was an instinctive and natural runner. He was nifty, elusive and knew how to protect himself.

TL has very good straight line speed, but because of his lack of instinct, he makes himself as a very big target, especially his head. If he better understood the fundamentals of how to run, I'd feel more comfortable.

Bottom line: In traffic, TL makes it easy for defenders to load up when they hit him.

Kind of what Jonathan Vilma said. He said, he couldn't understand why we would run a generational talent like TL as we do.
