This could be big trouble for our Orange Bowl hopes:

Dec 8, 2013, 1:10 AM

According to this, if a bolw loses a host team to the National Championship game, it chooses a replacement before the rest of the selestion process begins. If two bowls lose teams, the team that loses the #1 team to the champ game selects a replacement first. That means that the Orange will select a replacement team before the Sugar. If the Sugar seleced first, the would choose Bama and then the Orange would probably end up taking us later in the process. With the Orange selecting first, they may choose Bama and there is no way another BCS bowl chooses Clemson later in the process.

Not likely. Orange and sugar will likely stay with their conference ties.

I think our best hope is depending on them doing so at this

What if the Orange Bowl wants a Clemson/Bama matchup?

Dec 8, 2013, 1:16 AM

They take Bama first figuring Sugar won't select Clemson then picks the Tigers with the at large pick? Not likely, but ya never know!

Orange picks first and would rather have OSU, had BAMA

They don't have to get permission. They get first pick. Bama is not tied to sugar.

No, he's right. Orange can't take an SEC team without Sugar

consent.

"Further, when two bowls lose host teams, the bowl losing the No. 1 team may not select a replacement team from the same conference as the No. 2 team, unless the bowl losing the No. 2 team consents."

The Orange can take whoever the #### they want with the first replacement pick...that means Bama. However due to a gentleman's agreement with the Sugar, the Orange will select Ohio St. With Bama going to the Sugar, and Clemson to the Orange with the third pick. Stop freaking out.
