There's some irony in the fact that the most spirited time

for USuCk football is the off season. Most teams and fans enjoy the actual SEASON, but for Gamecock fans all those hope and dreams they work up are smashed to pieces when that first kickoff happens. Then, instead of rallying behind the team on their journey, it's dissension, internal strife, back-biting, depression, delusion, and veritable basket case of teeth gnashing frustration and anguish for 4 solid months.

Until the next off season, when the sun rises again and a new ray of hope shines brightly for 8 more months.

Make that 5 months. Some of the fans really do get caught up in what is known as The Coot Women's Basketball team.
