There is a lot of football yet to be played, but Trevor

has a chance to establish a record that may never be equaled - starting at QB in three national championship games. Can’t imagine that it has been done before, and doesn’t seem likely that it could ever happen again.
Also, particularly with the “free” eligibility year to COVID, there have to be at least a few players who are looking to get to the title game for the 4th time in their college career. I know this one has been done before (Clemson and Alabama come to mind), but that still is a pretty elite group.
The 2003 season is the asterisk. ‘04 and ‘05 he started the BCS title game, winning one and losing one. The ‘03 season they were left out of the BCS title game, but won the AP national title. So, they were #1 in the AP poll when they played Michigan in the Rose Bowl so technically that game was for the AP national title if they won, which they did.
It’s a huge asterisk and the fact that the AP title and the BCS title they did win were vacated makes the asterisk even bigger, but if it were a jeopardy question, he did technically start in 3 titles games.
Will look like next year? College remains an option...but, fans of other programs are hoping Trevor, ETN, etc., are moving on and Clemson could somehow be rebuilding in some fashion. Clearly, 'cycling out' proved a bonanza, rather than a deterrent!
