The only playoff tweak I want to see is

Have the two highest ranked teams not playing in a conference championship game play each other on a neutral field.
No more Alabama of 2017 sneaking into the playoff while other teams ahead of them lay it on the line.
No more ND sitting pretty while other teams lay it on the line.
Have the site predetermined before the season and the two teams are fully aware that they will still have one more game.
It's an all-around win for college football...well, except for the team that takes the L. But, this is the solution. Basically, CCGs and this game are play in games.

Notre Dame played Michigan the week we played FCS Furman

I got one better.
Make Notre Dame join a conference, or they don't go.
I don't care if it's a NCAA decision, a CFP Committee decision, or an Act of Congress.
Make them abide by the same "Standards".
Tell me, anyone, what makes them"Holier-Than-Thou"? that they don't have to join a conference.
And please don't tell me it has anything to do with "Touch Down Jesus"!
Is their tradition any better than Bama, OSU, USC(the real USC), Texas, or other schools that have been around as long or have as many National Championships?
Is it because NBC was willing to pay all that money to televise their games?
Tell NBC to take a Hike.
No, the only way to make it fair is for the Power 5 conferences each to have a playoff. Unfortunately, one conference will be left out every year, but that for the Committee or the coaches to decide.
Notre Dame should have no say so in it.
And Bama should have been left out last year, regardless of what did happen.
Period.

It doesn't matter. They're about to get blown off the field in a couple weeks, and it will all be moot regarding their conference affiliation. Then, Brian Kelly can fire some more assistants and they can rebuild to repeat in six years.

The only change I would like to see is either move the game back one week before kids are back in school, or move it forward one week and play on the Saturday of MLK weekend. The game is during exam week for our school district.

5 Conf Champs, ND, UGA and UCF. You would not have anyone for ND to play. What if it was Michigan and LSU instead of UGA and UCF?
