The empty stadium in Miami is something

Oct 29, 2015, 11:01 AM

That I can't see happening in the Valley. It was very telling. I can't imagine how the players on their team must have felt.

I imagine recruits seeing that and then seeing the fan support Clemson has..... That would be huge in my mind.

Attendance did take a pretty big hit here in the 90s

and dropped to around 70.000 a game.. Not nearly as bad as the Miami situation though.

GO TIGERS

There was a game in 1993 (?) that we lost to WF in a Death

Valley with 40 to 50,000. It was sparse. It was a sad day--rainy, gloomy and the height of the Ken Hatfield years.

I'm not sure how many were left in Miami after half but it looked like less than 3000. Hard to tell on tv, but tons of blue seats.

I had an actual first date with a girl I'd known for several months. Blamed it all on her and we never spoke again.

Any chance the Canes get a stadium downtown?

The Canes will never have the support of fans having to drive all the way to the boring area where Sun Life stadium is. They should put a stadium near where the Marlins play.

Maybe Miami should bus the students from the campus to the stadium. Then maybe they would have a somewhat better attendance. If you were a student would you want to drive an hour each way and worry about parking?

even at the old orange bowl they didn't get great attendance...

Oct 29, 2015, 12:11 PM

Don't understand why posters keep on carrying on about this. It's an old story and has zero effect on their recruiting. Really a non issue.
