The VT nooner and no College Gameday might be a

blessing in disguise...

In cast most forgot, we play a Thursday night road game following the VT game. And yes, Wake isn't exactly a world beater but we have proven more than once that a) Wake will give us a good game and b) we don't play well on Thursday nights.

I wish VT was undefeated coming to the Valley because I would like nothing more than to knock them off again. However, this game not getting overhyped and flying under the national radar will help this team. Our guys will not have to get way up on that emotional high like they had to last year or this year against FSU. Its hard to get on that high two weeks in a row, much less 5 days later.

Not a bad thing in terms of big picture on the nooner with VT.

But anytime you have a chance to get a prime time TV slot and show your team to people (recruits) everywhere, it's a good thing. Noon kickoffs are not good for Clemson. I know fans have a long drive, but we will have fans regardless. We need recognition and recruits. Personally, I'll suck it up and drive late or spend the night for a prime time TV slot. Clemson is a product, and products need exposure.

VT's lackluster year cost the primetime slot

i am just saying in the long run this might help us.

we seem to be recruiting just fine and have been for the past several years with all these nooners.

I don't think so, at least not in this case....

Both Clemson and Wake have a noon and 12:30 kick-off prior to the following weeks Thursday night game.

I'm pretty sure this was deliberate in order to give the teams more time to prepare.

What is the record for road teams in nooners? I think it favors home team pretty well. Also, ending game earlier gives just a little more time as compared to late night game when considering the travel to Wake. I hate noon games but this might be a slight benefit for us on both fronts.
