Orange Britches Surprise: Swinney keeps championship pants a secret
About 30 minutes before kickoff Saturday night at Carter-Finley Stadium, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney gathered his team near the visitors tunnel and told them about Wake Forest’s loss to Virginia Tech an hour earlier, and that a win against NC State would clinch the ACC Atlantic Division Championship. they were taking the orange pants with them knowing that Wake was playing erlier in day, and they had a good chance to lose to an improving VT team. I was at the game and high fiiving strangers when they came out of the tunnel.

orange, which I know have been worn in the "all orange" uni combo. If they have not, then I am truly losing it in my senior years.

They have always had stripes. And the helmet has too. Gotta match. Would look weird without.

In the first game where they wore orange britches, 1980 vs that team from Columbia, they sported a stripe.
