Hawkins' walk forces in the winning run as Tigers sweep

Tied with Stony Brook 1-1 in the bottom of the eighth, pinch-hitter Bryar Hawkins drew a two-out, bases-loaded walk to force in a run and the Tigers earned the sweep with a 3-1 victory at Doug Kingsmore Stadium Sunday afternoon. (Photo by David Grooms) Full Story »

it about this afternoon.

Great pitchers' duel!!! Not exciting to many Tiger fans . . . But much appreciated by baseball aficionados!!!

Low scoring games will be our calling card, until we start putting better "wood" on the ball!!! Thank God our pitching is stronger than those opposing us . . . so far.

May it continue throughout the season!!! This weekend will be a "good measuring stick".

We ARE Tigers and we play more focused vs. the coots . . . It will be a fun series this weekend!!!

Congrats on another good win!!! They ALL count . . . They ALL MATTER!!!

Think we broke some records today for pitching scoreless innings in a row. Way too early to grep any real stats... But talk about three good games. Nailbitters for sure.

Can't say enough when two of your weekend starters can only chunk limited innings. Only got 2.2 innings from our starter... Don't care who you're playing, to pitch that many punchouts by committee is outstanding.

If you get a chance, check out that gem of a catch by magic. Wow. What a game. Stony may not be a run producing team but they play good defense.

This time next week, we should know a lot.
