Never forget! To paraphrase what I heard on the radio a couple days ago,
Jesus died to save our souls. Our soldiers died to save our freedom.
God Bless America!

Thank you for this inspiring story. This history, and many others reasons, is why Clemson people are so proud of our university. One of the Korean casualties was in the group with me that flew out of Seattle to Tokyo and by ship to Korea. He was killed within the first two months. A friend who was in the same group who was assigned to a Graves Registration company processed his remains and called to tell me the bad news.

Awesome tribute to those who paid the ultimate price so we can enjoy our freedom! Thank you D Hood for an excellent article and for explaining the symbolism so we can pass it on.
Go Tigers & God Bless America!!

Exceptional article. My Dad's class---1944-- was taken out of Clemson and sent to OCS. Only about half returned after the war. Everytime he and I visited the memorial, I could feel the tremendous sense of loss in him. He loved his brothers in arms and his Tiger family. Thank you for your article. NEVER FORGET!!

Thank you for a great article. No, Freedom isn’t Free, and unfortunately kids today don’t seem to understand the price that was paid for them to have their freedoms. My husband is a Vietnam veteran and my Father served in WWII, he was there at Normandy. We can never repay them the debt we owe, but we can always honor them, not just Memorial Day, But always.

Great article David. I have an uncle on the Scroll of Honor. Speaking of the perpetual honor guards and this may be petty of me but it really irks me to see people climbing all over them for a photo op. Have a little more respect.

In Flanders Fields...

In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place: and in the sky The larks still bravely singing fly Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead: Short days ago, We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved: and now we lie In Flanders fields!
Take up our quarrel with the foe To you, from failing hands, we throw The torch: be yours to hold it high If ye break faith with us who die, We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields

Thank you David, Koty and Eli. I could not be there yesterday, but appreciate your attendance. Thank you Col Ben Skardon, for your service and reminding us all what it means to be Americans and Tigers.
My mother's first husband, John E Muldrow, Class of '37 was shot down in the Pacific in Aug 1945 and officially declared MIA, since he was not recovered.
Bless all who served and died for our freedom!
