Street vendors at the parade

Anybody know if the street vendors had to get some kind of approval to sell on campus today?

There was one guy selling shirts that had
TREVOR F##KING LAWRENCE
written on it (but without the ##) in bold letters and he was yelling that phrase as people walked by. Can’t beleive this was a sanctioned vendor. Not only lacking class and decency but also is a bad look for any visitors, etc.

My wife and I saw that too walking back to car after Dabo’s speech. Pretty sure if CDS saw that he might make a whip of ropes and drive him off the campus...

I just shake my head. I want to tell them that they completely missed the mark on 95% of the fan base.

The guy near gate 5 was yelling at people walking by.

"You worship a false god! Clemson is a false idol!" One older gentleman rebutted "Dabo uses Clemson to glorify Jesus" and the microphone freak yelled back "Dabo is a false prophet!"

Wish I had recorded it. A couple hours later, what does Dabo do? Use his platform to give the glory to God and quote scripture.

I didn't see him at Gate 5 today but I would guess he is the same one walking around the floats during homecoming. I know there are many people that need to hear the word, but IMO, Cootlumbia near Fried Rice Stadium would provide a richer target base than Clemson.

there were some of those at the Peach Bowl vs LSU

It just made people angry because they assumed everyone was a non Christian in a sea of Clemson/LSU fans?

Just wrong on several levels ...***

I hope the powers that be are able to somehow put a stop to this nonsense. I also wouldn’t mind seeing less ticket scalpers. But I guess that’s the price you pay when you’re ranked top 10 year after year.

And what clues led you to not believe that was a sanctioned vendor?***

That is absolutely terrible. Yes, I hope this is curtailed.

I know there is the first amendment, but if it is on campus property or city has some control, this needs to be curtailed. (At least the jerk should not be shouting it.)

they could sell it in Cootlumbia, that's what they're gonna

Sounds like they came in from Atlanta or above the sweet tea line.
Did they look like ticket scalpers? Generic clothes with no ties to Clemson.

The police were contacted. May send them a question asking what their follow up was.

Surely that guy would finish the day with the exact same number of shirts

he started with, right? What motivates that behavior? Who would buy that? Even the people who aren’t immediately repulse surely don’t want to walk around with a shirt with such language on it, and that clearly is so contradictory to both the program and Trevor himself.

I mean, obviously it is crass and tacky, but it also seems like terrible business.

I spent the whole day in Clemson. We saw that guy before we left around 5pm still hawking his wares in front of Tiger Town Tavern. Can't believe the authorities allowed an unlicensed vendor right on College Ave.
