The fundamental contract of college sports is that the opportunity to receive an education will be provided in exchange for representing the educational institution in athletic contest. OK! But why is it considered Abby-Normal for a college athlete to accept continuing education to continuing to represent the educational institution? Is not the pursuit of a Masters or Doctorate a value-adding objective? I would love to see a qualification of the value of an advanced degree over a lifetime.
