What happens if a player (say Justin Fields) wants to play this fall but his school has opted out? Will the NCAA extend an emergency waiver? I can just imagine the potential litigation that players could bring against a school for denying them the opportunity to display their skills and abilities this fall in an effort to impress an NFL team. The loss in potential draft position and lifetime earnings could be millions, especially for those seniors being denied that chance.
