It's like playing two overtimes in basketball and then deciding the games based on free throws. Kyle Fisher was very good in the back, very little got past him. Clemson came so close when the ball hit the crossbar and bounced out of the goal.

It does, but the alternatives aren't great etiher.

You can't ask these guys to keep playing. OT periods are often boring with little action because the players are too exhausted to create many chances. Playing beyond a 2nd OT would be dangerous and the quality of play would continue to decline. There's no telling how long a match might last if they had to keep playing until a deciding goal was scored. Goals can be hard to come by in soccer.

At minimum i think they would have to overhaul the substitution rules to allow more than 3 subs once a game reaches overtime. But who would want a game decided by bench players either?

I've followed Clemson soccer all season. Tonight, we had 2 shots within 8 yards of the goal. A Division 1 college athlete should NEVER miss those shots. High School soccer players rarely miss that shot. Then during the PK shoot out, a PK should be made or blocked everytime. Every shot should be on frame. Ridiculous.
