Don't know for sure but I would venture to guess that a good many of their players that don't get hardly any playing time at all,those players play on their JV team and yes North Carolina does have a Junior Varsity team believe it or not

The NCAA rule is 13 scholarship players. There are no limits to the number of walk-ons and overall total roster size.
