So I'm curious who Pitts big football rival is

used to be Penn State but I think series was dropped a number of years ago. I could see WV or Md if they can still play w conf demands. This is for the Pitt guy who was lurking earlier (and I was regrettably less than cordial to). Barker already left me a v/m about that

WV and Pitt were rivals. I don't know if anything has changed since conference realignment. A few years ago Pitt knocked off WV near the end of the year when WV was #2 in the country.

Are they geographically that close? I'll hang up and listen.

they are close. I always though Penn St used to be a big rival but they have probably moved on

Pittsburgh and Morgantown are less than 2 hours apart. Notre Dame is also a big rival of theirs since they don't play Penn State as often anymore.

Pitt, WVU and Penn State all were huge rivals...just like Clemson, USuck and Georgia. They all went after the same recruits and were all close to each other. Penn State quit playing PITT when JoePa wanted to start and Eastern football conference and Pitt was not interseted at the time. JoePa just refused to play them...even though they are playing agin in the next couple of years. WVU rivary ended when they left for the Big 12. The Cuse is in hoops but not in football. I would think in the ACC it will be Lousiville.

Pitt May Have To Re-tool The Football Rivalry ----

They may can build something with Syracuse, Boston College, and who knows they might want to throw in Temple just to say they think they can get an automatic win.
