So ... there are only 2 teams with 7-6 records in 2014

that are ranked in the 2015 pre-season Top25 Coaches poll

Any guesses as to which conference these 2 teams belong?

(Hint: S-_-C)

Well to make that even worse:

2 teams that were 8-5 last year are ranked ahead of us: Notre Dame, and Auburn - who is all the way up at #7! Got to love it.....or not.

Auburn has a lot of upside potential. Malzahn is one of the

best OCs in the country, and now they have a great DC there with him. Also, Auburn's national title followed an 8-5 season and their runner up season 2 years ago was on the heels of the 3-9 debacle, so i wouldn't say finishing 8-5 last year really matters too much.

Coots and SEC fans can call it what they want but I call SEC bias. Every year at least half (usually more) of the SEC is ranked in the preseason. The media usually gets at least three or four of them wrong and by season's end those teams have been replaced by the SEC teams that did win. In other words the media has no idea which SEC teams are going to win but whoever does will be ranked. I mean if you have a winning record in the SEC you must be good, right!!

Exactly...they say that the bad teams will drop out but every year you have an average team shoot up the rankings by beating teams ranked too high because of bias in the preseason polls.

So right on! The whole picture is skewed because of the prejudice at the beginning and all through the year. People have heard it so much that it just must be true, right? Wrong! They do have a few great teams, but they have some very mediocre ones too.

Of the 9 teams with single digit win totals appearing in the poll 5 are SEC teams.

Avg win total of SEC teams in the poll: 9

Avg win total for team to be ranked 15-25(non SEC): 10

I guess SEC teams really do get a 1 game pass.
