FTFs (Fine Tiger Friends).
Just got back from a chilly evening and another dominant performance.
I've never seen so many talented freshman get to play so early in a season.
They haven't all been perfect but they've all shown hints of brilliance and most of them have played beyond their years.
Like Dabo, Monte gets a lot of players into a game and give a lot of "youngsters" needed experience. All of this should pay great dividends later end the season and further.
Exciting time to be Tiger!
P.S. Do y'all remember only a few years ago when we'd have 12 hits and only 2 runs? Somehow this team knows how to get runs with fewer. The large number of walks helps, and so does the long ball. But our team has 117 runs on only 141 hits. To me, this is the most important stat of the season right now.
We make our hits count unlike season ago.

we were 30-5 to start the season last year. just sayin. that being said i like this team way better than last year but they will hit a rough patch. happens to every team. just hope it is brief.

I can’t believe I agree , we have only played 1 road game this season also.
It will get tougher when the road games start

Absolutely well said. I know all of you understand it, but the average fan probably won’t realize just what a special feat that Byrd had tonight. A lefty ( or anyone ) that hits 3 homers in one game on consecutive bats is incredible but I for one have never seen one where they were hit down rt field line, left field, and then dead straight away center.
Hope he frames that broken bat!!! Because I doubt I’ll see it again in my lifetime!!!

I thank Jack for every year he gave to Clemson Baseball, but it was time to cut that string when it was cut. It was time for a younger man's thoughts and new ways to approach college baseball!!!

Even tonight we did this: WE DON'T GET MEN IN FROM 3RD WITH LESS THAN 2 OUTS! That was a big part of out terrible second half last season. When we get into the meat of the schedule that will bite us in the butt. Other than that, we're fantastic right now. I'm very impressed with the young arms we have, and we have a big future with these underclassmen once they get a little more work at the plate. Good things ahead!

We have 2 players I trust to get runners in from 3rd. Chris Williams and Drew Wharton (more than likely a sac fly or groundout)

Funny you should say this about situational hitting. Up here in Yankee land I kind of feel the same thing about the Bombers. They'll hit tons of homers but can't get a simple little knock with runners in scoring position. I hope both the Tigers and Yanks can figure this out. In general, I think today's players swing away like crazy. Plenty of homers, plenty of strike outs and very low batting averages. I think it's crazy to pay players many millions for a 25-80-.225 line, especially when they strike out 195 times and leave a gazillion guys on base. 'Nuff said.

Jolly is probably our best hitter for finding a place to drop a ball when we need a hit.
Hope some young boys learn that needed trait.

Monte isn't that far away from putting a finished product on the diamond, and a diamond it will be when he gets it going with his plans, with a new and fresh look to Clemson baseball!!! The next time we get to Omaha, we will play as a championship caliber baseball team!!!

H&ll yea, and he was working right there beside him. I don't remember if Holbrook was with Ray when Monte was an assistant with the GC, but if so, Ray over looked Monte. Now Holbrook has Monte's old job at College of Charleston after being let go with the coots. And Monte is the Head Baseball coach at Clemson, and he has beat the coots two straight series in 2017 and 2018. Ray Tanner hired Holbrook and Mustcant, so it seems that Ray isn't very good at recognizing a good HC!!!
