Schedule strength is SEC priority

Apr 28, 2014, 3:39 PM

If anyone dares to read about the crying some are doing, my ? for them is if you're wanting to be known as the best why you so scared to play the best.
As Dabo would say "Spot the D____ Ball"

Well......your boy Dabo has spotted the ball for five straight years against a team that can't even win the SEC.

So, Scar gets Texas A&M...

Apr 28, 2014, 4:32 PM

As a permanent Western Division rival?

The SEC just loves dem chickens oh so much!!!

You coulda "drawn" Miss St or Ole Miss. But no, Texas A&M.

Scar fans, remember to keep waving those SEC flags when you watch teams other than your own playing for all the marbles. The SEC really did y'all a solid.

how does playing 2 teams from 1AA help your strength of schedule

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We do it out of habit

Apr 28, 2014, 5:45 PM

We used to add 1AA teams to improve our OOC schedule because the chickens would drag us down.

Smart move by them. I hope we'll push for the same sort of strategy. I'd like to see Clemson have 2 consistently scheduled games vs SEC teams. Would really love it if we could keep the Dawgs on our schedule permanently.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Agreed. Sounds like ACC may do the same

Apr 28, 2014, 5:48 PM

Good move by SEC

I don't necessarily want UGA every year, but another non-

Apr 28, 2014, 6:11 PM [ in reply to Re: Schedule strength is SEC priority ]

conference power team would be great: Auburn, Notre Dame, A&M, hell Southern California, etc.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I thought the OkSt matchup would've been great

Apr 28, 2014, 6:22 PM

Travelwise it would've been a hassle but I've been a lot farther to see us play. I feel that both teams are both making huge strides. And both teams have great coaches who love to score points. Plus, it'd be a good measuring stick game.

But I still never mind seeing ThUGA on the schedule. It's great for recruiting purposes and not to far away. It's just their fanbase.

True...I'd actually like to see maybe doing a home & home with UGA, then a home & home with another team, then back to UGA, then back to another.

It would be nice to go UGA, A&M, UGA, Southern Cal, UGA, etc. etc

Alabama: "Define power conference team."

Apr 28, 2014, 6:10 PM

You mean like Purdue or do you mean like Syracuse?

Any word on whether or not they've reached out to Kansas? They could fit them in between Jackson St and South Alabama.

Re: Alabama: "Define power conference team."

Apr 28, 2014, 6:50 PM

You don't have to like Bama, but they've been good about scheduling at least one strong OOC team per year:

2014: West Virginia
2013: Virginia Tech
2012: Michigan
2011: @ Penn State
2010: Penn State
2009: Virginia Tech
2008: ....darn
