My father in law landed on Omaha beach a week or so

after D Day. He was 18 or 19 years old and about 140 lbs....On July 4th, 1944 he was wounded early in the day from shrapnel from a bomb that exploded close to him and killed a fellow soldier. Later in the same day, he was shot through the left arm by a German machine gunner. I knew him for over 30 years and he never fussed about that arm.......

Heard it this morning Otw to work. Glad to know there’s nothing wrong with me. Got a lump in my throat now just thinking about it. What incredible men those guys were.
