If you drive 56 MPH in a 55 zone you are breaking the law, period. And yet most of us get on the interstate highways and break the law by 5 to 9 MPH. If you were to be stopped the defense you would use is, I was only a sliver over the speed limit for an interstate highway.
There's a word for, hypocrite, wear it proudly when making judgments about young men who have proven themselves to be above reproach in their character.
Oh and other things to consider are; telling a white lie to make a situation easier for yourself (perjury), fudging on your tax returns (tax evasion), gossiping about your so called friends (slander),etc, etc, etc.
