Regarding John Simpson

Jan 28, 2016, 3:14 PM

I have to admit I will be frustrated if he chooses Florida. First, I can't be mad at him because he never committed and Clemson has done all they can do but it blows my mind that he could pick them over an instate school that was on him from the beginning. An instate school that just played for a national title. I realize Florida has been a top program in the last 20 years but before that they were average. They had great success with Meyer and before that Spurrier but they have been average besides those two. I know that Clemson in the last 20 years with the exception of Dabo has been the definition of mediocre but in the last 5 years there isn't a hotter team on the rise. I expect to lose to Bama and occassionally lose to the state school for players in Florida, Georgia, etc. I do not understand him choosing Florida. I realize he has like them for a while but they just had a coaching change and Clemson has been as stable as they come. Again, no hard feelings for Simpson even though I don't understand. I know he won't make or break the class and getting Mullen or Gary is more important but losing the top OL to an out of state school when you are likely the preseason #1 and been on him for 3 years is just bizarre and ... frustrating.

It would be mind boggling if he went to UF.

But at least he'll play the coots every year.

Agreed. This feels similar to the Huggins/ UGA drama of last year.

now that he has eliminated $CU. Apparently they will be happier losing to an $EC division opponent than to Clemson. The funny thing is, they're likely going to be losing to both for the foreseeable future regardless of what Simpson elects to do.

Some guys just want to go out of state to get away from the same old grind. He may want to major in medical? UF has a great medical school.

I won't be upset if he goes to UF, would be a luxury pick up. I really like Pollard and Ancrum who both early enrolled so tbh Simpson is not a must have.
