Reel Truths for SPuD & our other “Trout Bums”!

Ha..that phrase was coined by writer/fisherman John Gierach and mentioned in his book named “Dumb Luck and the Goodness of Strangers”.

He writes about two seasoned anglers on the lessons they’ve learned from a lifetime spent catching fish.

And then you have a book called “How to Think Like a Fish” by well-seen TV fisherman Jeremy Wade who makes fishing for “River Monsters” a serious & scary business.

Saying..wishing SPuD & all TigerNet fisher boys (& girls) a splendid holiday weekend of making memories OR long tales to tell.

Go TiGERS!

Fishermen’s tales are always the best - LBB .. as well as the most embellished .... -<img border=">

If people were as good as their obituary - and products were as good as advertised - this would truly be a wonderful world !!

Years ago when my son was about 10, he caught

a bass between 3 to 4 pounds and we released it before coming in off the lake. I told him to show his mother how big the fish was that he caught and he held up his hands about 6 inches apart ! ! I knew that was a bad sign - he never fishes anymore.

off the bank or out of the boat by some 15 hundred pound monster...he ends up catching maybe an 40 lb. barmundi or a 7 foot wels catfish in Europe....But,so far, nothing that could sink the boat and eat him.

And he fishes in places where the people are impoverished and he releases all the fish. Makes me wonder what the village guides are saying under their breath.
