Since there is no commitment scheduled for today I thought I'd expand on a post SETHSLLY made on May 15. He had some excellent info on a player's star rank and the number drafted from each star ranking for the years 2017 and 2018. The numbers show that the evaluators did a good job on identifying the 5***** players. The number of 5***** is much less than the number of 4**** and lower, hence the percentage of 5***** drafted is much larger than the other groups. But looking at the numbers for the entire draft, most of the draftees have to come from the lower star rankings.
One of the surprising figures is the number of draftees who were not ranked. I don't have any info but assume some of these players came from the smaller schools where their talent reached it's potential. There will always be hits and misses in evaluating potential talent because there are so many factors involved.
Someone with the desire and time may want to examine the number of each star ranking in each round
A five-star prospect is considered to be one of the nation's top 25-30 players, four star is a top 250-300 or so player, three-stars is a top 750 level player, so look at the much higher draft percentage 5*****-----23-----9.1% 23/30 77% 4****------76----30,2% 76/270 28% 3***-------90----35.7% 90/450 20% so not much difference between 3 and 4 stars
