Wouldn't it be in their best interest to forfeit the game and save pitching since game is meaningless

Their is no need to save pitching. With Regional play not starting until the weekend, excellent time to get in live practice with lots of pitchers. I would think game experience much better than tjust hrowing pens at this time of year.
