Probably Germones, but newbie RB Lyn-J Dixon's block

Sep 18, 2018, 7:18 PM

on TL's throw to Ross in the 2nd quarter was absolute clutch. Seeing that block unfold at the time - you could anticipate something grand on the horizon as TL was afforded that extra moment to target and unload. Ross' unholy antics afterward were jaw-dropping, but Super Kudos to the other new guy for sticking an awesome block right there to allow it all to happen like it did.

Anish got kinda excited there; his voice rose a couple of octaves and he proclaimed Justyn the future of Clemson football.

Very nice, Anish, but you really need to settle down a bit.

Lol, it reminds me of the Mark Jones call of Georgia tech running back the blocked kick against FSU in 2015...”What a time to be alive!!!”

As said in previous posts, I admire his willingness to stick his nose in front of the crashing DE, but he should learn to cut block in that situation. He's not big enough or strong enough to block that guy straight up. He did hold the block long enough to allow TL to throw the ball, but if Ross had not been open and TL needed another split second, it would have been ugly. A good cut block would solve that issue quickly. He'll learn.

kid made the block and pass was made, nothing wrong with his blocking

RB Lyn-J Dixon's block...shows...

Sep 18, 2018, 8:10 PM

he's ahead of the curve. It took Gallman two seasons to get used to pass blocking. Lyn-J and ETN next year are going to wreck havoc on teams .

They are already.

Maybe. Maybe not. A defender can recover quick from a cut

block and would have momentum towards the QB from there. The fact that the DE had to ultimately throw Lyn-J to the side to get past left him flat-footed from there. Happy to see any freshman RB readily take on a rushing DE and get in his grill like that and make a difference. That bodes well.

If absolutely nothing else, it is an exercise in the value

of just not whiffing on your block. At least get in the guy's way and deliver a blow.

“Clemson wasn’t that much better with Trevor Lawrence, if at all.”

Lyn -J reminds me of Terry Allen . I think he's a similar size , has a lot of speed but will run over you , too .

Liked that #34 didn’t kill TLaw when he saw the ball was gone.

Could have crashed on in as most would or do

I'm a bit late on this, but the rusher was a LB, not a DE. Watch the film again, he was lined up at an outside LB spot. To verify, I checked the GS roster, #34 is Jon Ferguson LB.
