President Clements - now work on balance

Dear President Clements:

In general, I do think you have been a wonderful President of Clemson University. I am pleased you have decided to stay.

That being said, there are important items that I believe you should now work on.

1. Clemson has gone from a conservative or neutral political leanings to liberal heading toward the left more each day. The liberal professors have taken over the educational agenda and Clemson is clearly out of balance. The rhetoric from the left professors and clubs has left at least half the students behind. The bias toward left/socialism has been dramatic.

Immediately start a “balancing agenda” to ensure our children receive fair and balanced teachings and information. Start hiring conservative professors. Ensure that courses have balance as to opinion, facts and history.

2. Ensure that the cancel culture stops. Just because one group on campus does not want to hear a speaker or take a class, does not mean that it should not be permitted. Censorship (with reasonable rules) should not be allowed. History should not be erased in order to fit an agenda. Use the stronger approach and teach from history rather than erase.

3. Back in 2015 Clemson cancelled Mexican food day. The administration apologized for doing so. Please reestablish a culture where everyone is not offended by everything. Where big issues are dealt with, but something like cancelling Mexican food day is put in the proper box.

Great advice to Dr. Clements.
Might add one thing for him. Assure the next ACC Commissioner has no previous connection with any ACC member institution in any capacity. The University Presidents will be the deciding persons in this matter. Jim Clements must have a very high status by the other institutions or he would not have been in the position of a finalist.

You are entitled to your opinion of course. But why would you be scared of balance in an education?
You believe that if Clemson were balanced - then the university would not do well?

What alternatives are you speaking about?
