My Dad, Donald A Brown, Clemson Forestry class of 1965, has finally received mercy from any suffering, pain, or misery and passed into God's hands last night (early this morning)... as a result of Alzheimers. He is certainly in a better place now and we can all be comforted for him and be relieved to witness no longer any prolonged discomfort. We will miss you Don Brown, but you left a great legacy, a great example for others, and a tough act to follow in your wake! He was a devout tiger, as dad was there the last time we won the national title in '81. He is also the main reason for my brothers and my attending Clemson and studying forestry also... How wonderful would it be to top off memories of him with another one!?
Lord please be with my mom, Lana brother Donnie, and my whole family and friends, as we get through this and look forward to New Life through the recent birth of my brother's daughter.
We'll have visitation Monday, the funeral Tuesday, at Central United Methodist - Newberry. Whitaker Funeral home is making arrangements.
Anyone traveling for the holidays or whomever may know my family and intend to lend us your support, please be very careful! And thank you to everyone who has assisted us and been there during these difficult times! Always be thankful for the time we have! God bless!
