Against the steps and being 'the Yankees' as a little dude growing up in Mobile, Al. I lived and breathed every AB that Mickey Mantle had...and Stottlemyre was the first player I followed from his beginnings. Of course, planted in front of the B&W television for the Game of the Week with Dizzy Dean and PeeWee Reese...and the Falstaff sponsorship...aah...sweet memories. Of course, the Mobile area...and Alabama at large, has quite a collection of Cooperstown names...Aaron, McCovey, Mays, Agee, Billy Williams...and so on. Not too shabby.
