I saw where O310 has 8 RBs on their roster. They must count everyone in the backfield except the QB.

We are thin. They must have known Feaster was likely to leave, hence going after RBs late in the 2019 class.

We have 5 RBs. 4 that can seriously contribute. Not thin imo.

We have Etienne, Dixon, Rencher, Mellusi, and Dukes.
We know what we have in Etienne. Dixon showed some great flashes, reminiscent of ETN's freshman year. We don't know how well he has developed as a blocker and in other areas besides raw running. Rencher has 25 career carries for 100 yards in junk time. Mellusi and Dukes are not even on campus yet and will very doubtfully pick up the intricacies of the offense in time to be serious contributers, especially early on.
I know that we like to be positive and have faith in the coaches, but to say we aren't thin at RB if Feaster leaves is just not really true. If Etienne has a Mike Williams type situation at the beginning of the year we could have a really big problem. Honestly it would be a problem either way, but I think we would be in better shape with Feaster and Dixon than Dixon and Rencher.

Exactly. If one injury can seriously compromise your running game, you aren’t deep.

Honestly, I am much more worried about the impact on the passing game. Freshman can contribute quickly in the running game. It is their ability to block that keeps them off the field in our offense.

This thread got me to do a little research and now I am a little worried. It is not that we are thin at the position, per se, but we are thin at backs we can rely on to block. As far as I can tell, ETN is the only back that we have over 200 pounds.

I agree.
I think Lyn-J Dixon could be a feature back, but I'd worry some if we had to ride just Dixon and Rencher for an extended period of time. They might get it done...but that's a heavy load for just two backs, especially as many games as Clemson tends to play in a season.
You ideally want three guys you can rotate and a fourth who can fill if one of those first three gets dinged, and I'm not sure we're going to have that this year.
