Parachute

I just read that one of the two jumpers into the stadium had a parachute issue. The initial parachute did not open. He had to cut it free and use the backup. The parachutist is ok.

The systems I’ve seen it’s done with one handle (it’s red). Pulling that handle releases the primary and deploys the secondary.
