I say do away with these things

Either give the top 4 teams some rest or an extended period of time off.

These 1 day match-ups aren't really proving anything. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy seeing this happen but there is really no reward at all for the few teams that are locks for hosting a regional/super regional...If I am UNC in this situation I am a little pissed off seeing as they have to play wednesday, thursday, friday, and possibly on the weekend.

What do you guys think?

UNC does NOT play Wed., Thurs., Fri.

May 18, 2009, 6:08 AM

They play Wed., Fri., Sat. WE, on the other hand, play Thurs., Fri., Sat. At least NC gets a day between their first and second games.

Anyway, you make a good point that the teams playing on Sun. will have played either 4 in a row, or 4 of the last 5 days.

The definition of awesome!

If there is a 3-way tie in a "div" UNC or FSU will go to the

Sunday game. That's the reward for winning the actual division championship in the reg. season. Am I reading that right?

Hmm: Interesting question

According to the rules:

If three teams are tied, the tiebreaker that matters is the first:

A. The team with the best overall conference winning percentage in regular season play advances (in our division that would be UNC over Clemson by .02, in the other FSU by .05).

Believe the tiebreaker goes to BCS ranking

I thought I had it on . I thought BCS stood for Bowl Championship Series and that is football. But I see your point - they always come up with a new way to favor UNC. From reading above , they will get in the Sunday game if we end up tied with them .
