Offsides, IF U See Blue the The Call is True

This is ridiculous about this frickin call. The guy was offside. The refs head was right on the line. That is his job to make sure no one crosses it before the ball does. They just ***hurt!!!!

Are you not a yard off? The ball is on the line of scrimmage***

Seriously asking. That was my interpretation of the rule. That his hand would have to be over the 35 yrd line.

I will explain angles this time

You see where the refs head is. The refs head is on the yard line of scrimmage. So therefore if you put a straight line parallel to the line of scrimmage with the refs head then anything that passes at that point is across the line of scrimmage thus being offsides. Id love to go into how far the refs head is from the ground and how the ball is at ground level and the formulas for this but it is very simple.

You Einstein or somethin'? Musta had something to do with the space-time continuum or something. We're all thinking 3-dimensionally and I think he's saying we must use the 4th dimension to understand the mathematics. ;)

It's called parallax error. Look it up.

Thanks this makes a lot of sense.***

Everyone is missing the point with the call. All 9 players on kickoff have to be between that 9 yard mark at the whistle. Its in the rules. They need to stop looking at the yellow line. ACC Champs!!

This is exactly right!!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

exactly right- the top of the refs' head is also on the line

Dec 6, 2015, 6:57 PM

of scrimmage at approximately 6' above ground. So that parallel line from his head is the LOS at around 6' high.

Dude's hand/arm is below that 6' mark and showing, so it MUST be over the line, thus offside.

A little bit ticky-tack perhaps, but offside IS offside. If a lineman lines up and his head is hanging over the line, he is called offsides also.

Form the other angle you see that the kickers foot is half

Dec 6, 2015, 7:23 PM

way across the line when he kicks the ball.

I would really like to see one where the ball is off the tee

Dec 6, 2015, 7:28 PM

Everyone I have seen it appears as if the ball is still on the tee so where are they when the ball actually has been kicked

I don't even care if the call was right. It feels good to be

Dec 7, 2015, 7:39 AM

on the RIGHT side of a perceived bad call for a change. Poetic justice at the very least. And the fact that came at the expense of the Tarholes just makes it that much sweeter.

As a Tar Heel, I'd have loved the chance to try to score a TD, then get a 2 pt conversion, then win in OT... but it warn't to be, and realistically you guys whupped us pretty good Saturday night. Good luck in the playoffs- hope you win the natty.

Thank...can you answer honestly though? Would you have agreed that you should get the ball by committing a targeting? Just curious.
