O Linemen

Dec 10, 2018, 4:19 PM

Call it TNet chatter, but I would love to see Clemson break protocol and pursue some transfer and/or JC offensive linemen this year to benefit TL16, ETN, and the stable of high quality WRs and RBs Clemson has recruited. O Linemen ... indeed.

We won’t go after JUCO’s but I’d like to see us hit the grad transfer market

IMO it wouldn’t hurt to find a few DTs as well

Three star OL Wyatt Tunall 6-5 270 from Chester is the nr 34 player in SC and the nr 165 OT overall. Was committed to App St but just changed to the Tarholes per the Chlt Observer. Anyone familiar with him. Curious if he would've been a decent pick up since we need a couple more for the class.

I agree. Don't understand why we don't recruit the JUCO field. We used to get some tremendous players from that field. What's the problem? Stupid to me.

Absolutely not applicable to recruit OL from JCs, would be a long discussion.

dgcannon39 I think the thought process is: "development time"! A juco player would not have had the time in the program to develop in the image the coaches have for a Clemson football player! Plus, if they are good enough, you likely only get them for a year! Then you are back where you started.

I'm with you as far as the concern over the OL though. All that talent; plus a more seasoned TL should be playing behind a dominant OL. W/O at least a decent one the most skilled of skilled players suffer; due to lack of time to execute plays or get open or time to throw, etc.

So Dabo’s plan on recruiting his way and competing in the playoffs four years in a row, 13-0,

Is the end result of his overall plan stupid too?
