Notre Dame

If Notre Dame wins out, but by some miracle they get left out because other 1 loss team win a conference championship, does Notre Dame give in and join a conference?

That’s the only scenario where they would even consider it.

Doubt it happens though. Too much money on the line.

The lyrics to a old song go this way, "Does your chewing gum loose it's flavor on the bed post over night,---- the answer to my question is it yes or no" the answer to your question is no ND does not join in football in our lifetime.

Money is one thing, prestige is the other. And when you aren’t IN, that changes the convo.

I think their arrogance will be tested as they are found on the outside looking in. But in the new CFP paradigm I think they finally give in and go full membership ... $0.02.

I guess it comes down to , do the Catholics have more pull

than a 16 team conference. If we win out, there is no way the ACC champ, and DEFENDING NATIONAL Champs are left out. No way.

Zero percent chance they are left out at 11-1

And they would deserve it. Only loss a 1pt'er to UGA which will, most likely go into SEC,championship undefeated. I don't look at a conference championship as a per-req.

Yeah, I'm on the ND bandwagon but have been for a while. Hope we get to play and beat them in the CFP.

I'll be at the NC State game up here next weekend.

Only way it happens is if there are 3 undefeated conference champs which would have to be SEC, B1G and Big 12. Then a 1 loss Clemson would get in over ND IMO.

If there are less than 3 undefeated conference champs...and history says there definitely will be...then 11-1 ND gets in and deservingly so. Big 12 most likely gets left out again.

If ND wins out I still think they go over...

a 1 loss conf champ team. ND has 2 more chances for a loss with Miami and Stanford. If they win those 2 they are in imo.

They could lose to NCSU this weekend too. Unlikely but possible.

I think ND will get in at 11-1, but only bc I don’t think there will be 3 undefeated teams. If there are 2 or less they’ll get a spot over a 1 loss Big 12 or PAC 12 champ. They’d also get in over Miami I think if the Canes go 12-1 and their only loss is to the Irish.

Litany of scenarios for them to make it in. The only scenario they get left out of is 3 undefeated champs and a 1 loss Clemson as ACC champ.
