Noah Dehond and Blake Vinson

Any word how those guys are coming along? It seems like those who be our bookends of the future.

Not with Jackson Carmon around.***

Jackson Carmon looked like an OG.

Apr 26, 2018, 12:48 PM

He has a long way to go to be able to handle being a starting OT.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I could be wrong

Apr 26, 2018, 12:55 PM

but with his size, height and athleticism he is destined for the LT once Hyatt leaves.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He is supposed to be, but as of now he is too slow,...

Apr 26, 2018, 1:04 PM

and it could be, probably is, because of his weight. Did you check him out in the Spring game? The sky is the limit, but he has a long long way to go. I don't think we can just pencil him as a starting LT when Hyatt leaves. He may get there, but he is not near ready now. He would be a liability to TL's health. There's no telling where he will be by then though. It wouldn't surprise me a bit to not see him starting at LT at that point though. I also woldn't be surprised if he leaves an all time great. He just has so far to go after watching the Spring game.

Still should have been in HS in Ohio. What OT is going to

come in and dominate after 14 practices?

Dominate? No. It was really obvious how far he has to go.

Apr 26, 2018, 1:54 PM

He is really slow right now though. Hyatt was ready pretty quickly. Starting at LT takes a lot.

Re: HYatt was unique

you almost never see anyone ready that early at that position. Of course we had a need and he was about the only solution. Still when you look at his freshman year he was truly amazing for any freshman especially one who had not red shirted.

Exactly.

Apr 26, 2018, 2:03 PM

That's part of the reason I think that Jackson will face competition from within our team. It's not like he is some fit freakish athlete YET. It will take time.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Supposedly they are both coming along fine. Dehond needed

Apr 26, 2018, 12:47 PM

extra work on feet and technique.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It will definitely help Hyatt too, but...

Apr 26, 2018, 12:51 PM

we are so lucky he came back. That extra year is so huge for the program. Of course we all know that, but it is great.
