Nine Losses...perspective

Some factoids:
1. Only one time did Bowden teams lose less than nine games in consecutive years...8 combined in 2000-2001.
2. That was the first season since 1991-92 the Tigers lost fewer than nine games in consecutive years.
3. There have been over fifty (50) consecutive year periods where the Tigers lost 9 or more games.
4. It happened every two-year period between 1967-68 and 1976-77...
5. And 17 of 18 two-year periods between 1992-93 and 2010-2011.
6. There have been 31 3-year stretches of 9 or fewer losses.
7. There are 13 4-year stretches of 9 or fewer losses in total; currently on a three consecutive period streak. Danny's teams had 5 such, including three in a row.
8. Tigers are currently in their second consecutive 5-year period of 9 or fewer losses...the only two since the beginning years of Clemson football.
8. 1975...Tigers lost 9...worst record ever. (I was there.... facepalm )

I glanced at the Coots history, thinking it would be fun to post their numbers...but I couldn't stop laughing, nor see the screen clearly for the tears in my eyes! ;)

Yup, I was there in '75 as well. Even at the "glare bowl" 56-20 debacle in Willy B. By far my worst experience ever at a game. Low end zone seat, day game, glare off the artificial chicken carpet made the whole field look white. Couldn't see chit as far as yard lines, side lines, or anything else. (Felt like a Looeyville wide receiver!)

Have to say, the Veer offense was never run much better than QB Jeff Grantz ran it for the Cawks that day. Glad those days are gone.
