The Best is Yet to Come: Clemson assistants stay home, building model program

The coaching carousel can be scary and daunting for many programs as coordinators and assistants try to balance their current coaching duties, recruiting and interviewing for various jobs. At Clemson, head coach Dabo Swinney has created a culture that makes coaches want to stay. Full Story »

Dabo. That snake oil salesman. If he's not reeling in 5 star recruits, he's keeping 3 possible head coaches on the staff. And he doesn't even have a Boom-bus.

But he does have a God driven faith that his assistance also share, and you can't beat that plan bc it rides very smooth!!!

Has it been done before? No I think not. But Clemson can be the first to win a Foorball, Basketball, Baseball, Women Basketball, Male and Female Soccer, and Softball National Championship in the same season. Go Tigers. The best is yet to come.

I think that you could be reaching for the unreachable, and that is why it's never been done!!!

That may be true but if you reach for the Stars you only fall into the clouds, whereas you reach for the clouds that ground hurts.

For the few that always see the sky falling on our FB program, keep this in mind. This week alone all three of our assistant coaches have came and made a statement of how they feel, and where they stand when it comes to them leaving. First of all none of them had to come out and say a thing, and being that they did, and I sure as h&ll don't believe they did so just to come out to lie with every other word that they said about their feeling for Clemson in the now, or in the close future. That wouldn't make sense for any of them to use this invitation to speak about them selves and Clemson just to LIE about their true feeling and where they stand when it comes to Clemson and their plans while at Clemson. I believe that all three have been as truthful and as honest as they can possibly be. And everything that they have said matches their the character they have shown since being coaches at Clemson. The sky isn't fixing to fall, and I believe that their foundations at Clemson are pretty solid for at least a few years from today. And I absolutely don'y believe that any of those three men would ever run out and leave Dabo hanging without enough time for Dabo to plan ahead for the changes to be ready if any of them were planing to leave!!!! And that's a fact Jack!!!

I believe all of these men are sincere about their love for Clemson and that they expect to stay here a long time. I also believe these men are all very smart and these statements coming out now during the height of the recruiting process is no coincidence. The consistency and continuity we have may be just the thing to win over guys like Mayes and Henry. It would be huge to me if I were in their shoes. All I know is it’s a great time to be a Tiger!!
GO TIGERS!!!

We got to see Dabo and Jeff Scott’s reaction

Dec 15, 2017, 4:57 PM

on the field after renfrow caught the game winning pass in the natty last year. But I would’ve loved to have seen Tony Elliot’s reaction in the booth! I wonder if that footage is out there anywhere?

This is something Clemson will have to face every year from here on out. Venables, Scott and Elliott are all going to be desired options again next year. The proof is in the results. This is why Dabo has sunk a LOT of money into his staff. Give them the best places to live, work and the best players to coach. I mean, Dabo is showing he is the BEST CEO money can buy and he is the ultimate team player. Forget what the coots say, they absolute are the dumbest fans in college football. Period. Will Clemson lose some assistants, probably but when is the question? From a fan's view point (mine), I'd love this staff to stay in tact for a long time, but that's not reasonable. Hobby leaves, Dabo brings in Bates. Look forward to seeing what Lemanski Hall can bring to the staff. Dabo reloads coaches like he does players.
