5 times he flew in an airplane he jumped out. His 6th trip in an airplane was the first time he ever landed.

of a perfectly good airplane. With my luck, the parachute would open upside down, and I would hit the ground twice as fast.

It belonged to the Alabama Air Guard and I felt safer jumping out of it than I would have landing in it. They were C-119s that were loud and shook and just in general made you wonder if it would make it back to the ground by flying.
