is that the reason Trump should agree to be interviewed by the SCO is that he will lose the ability to have legal counsel present during the questioning and the ability to confer before answering questions or at any point in the interview should he refuse to work out an interview and, instead, force the SCO to subpoena him and force him to appear.

Given that Trump cannot communicate without lying repeatedly, the one thing they his lawyers will want to avoid at all costs is an unbridled unrestrained lying machine loose in the interview room with no lawyers present.

He is smarter than any lawyer attempting to represent him or anyone who questions him. He will be fine.

Actually, Trump has simply moved on from playing 3D chess to 4D chess. We regular folks may not understand why he and his legal team continue to do things that seem idiotic on the surface, but that's only because we aren't as smart as he is.
