Naismith Original Rules / 30 for 30

Has anyone else seen this? I watched a few weeks ago and found it odd for several reasons.

1. KU did not lead the efforts in acquiring the rules at auction
2. Current coach did not engage or help in acquiring the rules
3. Only 1 wealthy alumni stepped up and ended up footing bill, multiple others said “No”
4. Just read where they are on display but makes no mention of the “super fan” that drove the entire effort on acquiring.

Just odd.

Yeah it was kinda uncomfortable to realize the tension between KU and the Naismith family, who had been basically displaying the original rules for money as part of some traveling show thing...pretty odd. I hope the feller that won the $3.5M auction still retains all ownership rights even though the university is permitted to display them - KU's lack of intentionality in the matter would make me wanna retain my investment for my own estate rather than donate it outright.

Stats for the season put out by the ncaa and I don’t see Kansas very high up the list in any area. What are their strengths? I watched them play one game thus far and they did not overly impress me .... but I’m a dunce
