NYE IN NOLA

Dec 5, 2017, 3:54 PM

I've been researching and found this website, giving ideas for NYE in NOLA. Includes everything from a packed Jackson Square, fireworks on the riverfront, etc.

I've booked 2 spots for me and the wifey at Bourbon Vieux. Seems pretty swanky, but it's an open bar, food, and a balcony on Bourbon St to throw beads to all the lovely, inebriated ladies. Here's their website. Would be awesome to pack that place with some Tiger fans.

I've been there several times...

two of said trips were during Mardi Gras, and I can tell you from direct first hand experience, "amazing" is not a word that I would use to describe either New Orleans or Bourbon Street.

As someone who lived in New Orleans for 4 years, I can tell you that it is actually a pretty fanastic city. There is way more to it than the French Quarter. I loved every second of living there and I can't wait to be back for the Sugar Bowl.

I've been there before, during my college years. All we did was get tanked on cheap booze on Bourbon St. I'm a little more mature now, so i've made some nice dinner reservations, booked a nice NYE party (where I will still drink too much) and have plans to tour some cemeteries, check out the local history, catch some jazz, etc.

You can't stay on Bourbon Street too much if you want to keep your liver, but i figured NYE would be fun so long as you had a place booked to celebrate.

Me too.

But I don't remember anything that happened. ;)
