NCAA Cleared the way today for a future Clemson vs Norte Dame ACC-CG

Oct 21, 2019, 6:28 PM

Per waiver given to AAC (former Big East) conferences can pit the two teams with the best winning percentage against each other even if they don’t play a round robin.

I look forward to a 8-0 Clemson playing a 5-0 Norte Dame in future years. No more crappy ACC-CG.

Nope

NEVER GONNA HAPPEN.

Why? Because it's bad business for the ACC. Good for ND, bad for ACC.

Only a complete imbecile would would ever allow ND to play in the ACC Championship as a partial member.

Notre Dame is not a member of the ACC for football and is not eligible for the conference championship. The waiver applies to schools that are members of a conference for football.

Can’t happen as ND is an independent in football***

It's not the ACC's job to make ND relevant

Again. It's on the Irish. They've been independent forever...had their own network contract for years...had an A-A LB with a pretend girlfriend...and absorbed two of the worst poundings in collegiate football playoff (or facsimile thereof). They have gold helmets...a rich history from post-'WW2'...and over thirty years since they won a National Title...and lost to a Dawgs program that hasn't won in an even longer time.

So...why would anyone within the ACC give a rat's tail about the leprechauns?

They won that last national title despite having Lou Holtz

as their Head Coach at the time. (That is a direct quote from a Notre Dame Alum.) That ought to count for something in their favor. :)

But they did win with a S.C. Quarterback from Woodruff S.C.. Tony Rice.
