NCAA Basketball Commission -- end of 1 & done?

Apr 25, 2018, 11:03 AM

https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/commission-on-college-basketball-proposes-major-changes-to-ncaa-to-fix-the-sports-problems/

Will be very interesting to see the NBA response and eventual outcome. Some of these may be too drastic of a change but many will also affect college football if implemented.

The NCAA has no say in the matter it’s an NBA rule.

Just like in college football and baseball the MFL and MLB set the eligibility rules. The only reason the NBA did away with drafting players out of high school was GM’s made too many costly mistakes.

Just copy baseball

Seems to work fine.

Granted, Kentucky will have to come up with a curriculum that will 'occupy' their players time until draft eligible. I suspect Calipari is already huddling with Roy on ideas.

the thing that will happen if the NBA agrees

to change their eligibility rule and the NCAA adopts the baseball model is that the players that do choose college will actually be student-athletes... the rate of ineligibility should fall drastically, baseball doesn't have many eligibility issues so I expect basketball issues to mirror baseball issues as well

What do you do when all of the flagship basketball programs and shoe companies get busted by the FBI? Why, you form a Commission to save them all from themselves!
