That’s cool. You should call him lucky charms, because Cheerios doesn’t sound as good.

Please Help Me Understand

I grew up in Indiana catching and eating carp. Sure, bass, crappie and bullhead catfish were better, but carp was a part of our diet.

When I moved to Texas 34 years ago, I was shocked to find that people here gagged at the thought. They consider carp low class and trashy. Now I'm psyched out and also refuse to eat it.

The irony is Texas consumes as much catfish as the rest of the USA combined.

I'm so confused. Tell me, what is right and what is wrong here?

reminds me of stopping at a roadside eatery just outside of lexington NC cause they had a nice sign outside that said fresh farm raised trout. We became suspicious when they only offered them deep fried, then convinced it was catfish when they brought it out. Either way, the trout was good that day, even though it was catfish.

(Farm raised) catfish is better than trout.

Baked is better than fried.

Move to Texas and I'll convert you.

Depends on how it's prepared

I definitely like trout more than catfish filets

But I also love catfish nuggets fried

We called carp. "Bugle Mouth Bass". I knew people who were glad to get the carp so I gladly gave them away.

Since it’s the old Seneca River channel that was cut off by the #### construction, these are probably generated from the original river fish that were isolated back then.

I watched an old man work about a 10 pounder to shore on a little old Zebco rod and reel one day. He struggled for about 20 minutes.
