I don't know if I have idols, but if such is steeped in respect, then Hank Aaron tops my list. Like him, I was born in Mobile and take great pride in the very notable players who came from that part of LA. Billy Williams, Tommy Agee, Willie McCovey, Satchel Paige, Amos Otis, Ozzie Smith and so forth. Heck, the state of Alabama could field a very competitive all-time team (Willie Mays ring a bell?).
But...this...I'll always cherish...arranged by a friend almost thirty years ago:
