Martavis Bryant looking more foolish every time he opens his mouth.

Oct 23, 2017, 8:08 AM

The NFL is a PR nightmare. A friend or 2 needs to get him under control. His judgment has never been the best.

I am a steelers fan and I think they should just show him the door.

Didn't he ask for a trade? I mean, when you have Big Ben as a team captain not much moral authority there ... please.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Steelers offered him no help, he has dealt with his issues...

has been getting open and they refuse to throw to him

It's very clear his issues extend well beyond smoking pot. Seems you're missing that completely.

Re: Martavis Bryant looking more foolish every time he opens his mouth.

Oct 23, 2017, 8:33 AM

I am disappointed that he would speak against another player just because he wants additional targets.

I am worried about him. I hope he does move on and maybe grows up a little in the process.

Yeah, but hows he supposed to chill out when they took his weed away? Do you blame him for being uptight?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He already has grown up, the Steelers and Rapelisberger haven't***

Well the way he is going he could end up in Cleveland or something even worse. He is hurting himself and burning bridges with these utterances

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-74tiger.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They threw him a pass last night and he didn't even see it!

Oct 23, 2017, 9:05 AM

...he likely just needs to shut up and play...

That’s what happens when you let drugs take over your brain

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I do not think anyone can get through to him

Oct 23, 2017, 10:05 AM

would love to see him go to the Texans and have Nuk mentor him and have get around the character of Deshaun Watson. He seems fragile and I do not see it ending well. Prayers for him.

Re: Martavis Bryant looking more foolish every time he opens his mouth.

Yeah very disappointed in him. He’s too immature which is sad because he is a father. He needs a wake up call

2024 orange level membermilitary_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

What did he say now?

Oct 23, 2017, 10:19 AM

I can't find anything on the net. I watched some of the game yesterday but didn't hear anything. TIA.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Lashed out at someone who tweeted him

Oct 23, 2017, 10:23 AM

Basically said that he's way better than his teammate WR JuJu Smith Schuster and deserves more targets than him.

Deleted the tweet, but once it's on the internet it spreads like wildfire.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Lashed out at someone who tweeted him

Oct 23, 2017, 10:35 AM

It's probably true, not good to say as a team mate but clearly the off season dust up b/w him and his QB has given him few targets.

Org should stand up and give him a fresh start -

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Oh boy, that's too bad. He's so talented.

Oct 23, 2017, 10:43 AM [ in reply to Lashed out at someone who tweeted him ]

I wish he would straighten himself out. He has so much potential.

He has, he worked through his issues with zero help from the Steelers...

Oct 23, 2017, 12:37 PM

only to come back and have Rapelisberger blast him in the media and refuse to throw to him even though he has been getting open all season. The Steelers are just sabotaging him in a contract season. If the Steelers didn't want him, they should have traded or released him before the start of the season

actually, he threw it to everyone except Bryant. the rookie, the tight end and Brown.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Make it idjit proof and someone will make a better idjit.

I'm going to agree with King on this one...

Oct 23, 2017, 11:37 AM [ in reply to If he does want out I don't blame him, he has been getting open all season... ]

Roethlisberger is locking on to Antonio Brown and holding the ball too long waiting for him to get open, then going to other reads or getting sacked. That is why Pittsburg's passing game is in the sack and they have begun winning with the run game.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I will admit he was wrong to express his frustrations through social media...

Oct 23, 2017, 12:43 PM

But he is right to be frustrated. He had zero help from the Steelers when he was working on his personal issues, only to come back and have Roethlisberger (who has been accused of sexual assault twice) blast him in the media for his personal issues . He does everything right to get back, is in unbelievable shape, has been getting open and blocking good. This is more to do with Roethlisberger's animosity towards Bryant

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not too mention the Steelers offered him zero help when he was...

Oct 23, 2017, 10:38 AM

dealing with his personal problems. He has done everything right over the past year and a half and the Steelers are still treating him like he is still in trouble. F the Steelers, go Martavis

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Not too mention the Steelers offered him zero help when he was...

Oct 23, 2017, 10:49 AM

Agree with you. Why do people on here always feel the need to weigh in on things they lack a good perspective on? This is a great example - !

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Martavis is very talented but his reputation

Oct 23, 2017, 10:52 AM

is only getting worse. He continues to throw other receivers on his team under the bus and go on and on about how much better he is. I wish he'd just be humble and do his job. He's acted like a real prick these last couple of years.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

he has been doing his job. He is unbelievable shape, blocks good, and gets open...

Oct 23, 2017, 12:45 PM

That's on the Steelers for not utilizing him

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I have to say - watching the game

Oct 23, 2017, 12:47 PM

yesterday, I did notice he was open on many plays and RBerger didn't try to get him the ball.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They barely played him yesterday...

Oct 23, 2017, 12:50 PM

I've seen a good number of Steelers games this season and he gets open on a consistent basis and blocks good. Roethlisberger just stares down Antonio Brown, that's why there passing game has been limiting their offense

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: They barely played him yesterday...

Oct 23, 2017, 12:52 PM

I agree - he didn't play much, but when he did, he got open - to bad.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Its amazing how he continues to shoot himself in the foot.

Oct 23, 2017, 11:06 AM

Leaving early meant less money.
Suspension for pot smoking failing multiple drug tests meant less money.
Pubicly saying you want out decreases trade value and likelihood team works with you all while alienating your current teammates.

Hope he figures it out.

Re: Martavis Bryant looking more foolish every time he opens his mouth.

Oct 23, 2017, 1:02 PM

After everything he has gone through, most of which he brought on himself, he should be mature enough to know that he is going to have top take his medicine and regain the trust of Rothlisburger and his teammates. That is not going to happen the first week or two of training camp or the first half of a season. If he keeps his mouth shut for a year and works hard, he will eventually get back to where he needs to be. Tomlin knows whether he is working hard and he knows whether the lack of production is due to him or Big Ben!

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Also, won't the tape show the missed opportunities?

Oct 23, 2017, 1:06 PM

I would think that if/when Tomlin views the tape and sees that there were missed opportunities for NOT throwing to Bryant, won't he say something to RBerger? or is that not an option? just saying.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I would be upset too...

Oct 23, 2017, 1:20 PM

Guy is a game changing WR running wide open and Big Ben doesn't even look at his side of the field. He just stares down Antonio Brown and forces the ball into double coverage. Bryant needs to be traded to a team that will use him.

Re: I would be upset too...

Oct 23, 2017, 1:22 PM

Bryant is a millionaire who made his own bed and is now complaining about the quality of the sheets.

I don't feel sorry for him. Not even a little bit.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Bad analogy... A millionaire can buy better sheets...

Oct 23, 2017, 1:25 PM

Bryant is beholden to a contract with the Steelers and a QB who only looks for AB.

2024 purple level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Bad analogy... A millionaire can buy better sheets...

Oct 23, 2017, 1:30 PM

He made his own bed...meaning he PICKED the sheets.

And if he wanted to buy new ones, staying with the analogy, he would shut up and play, realizing that when he bought the sheets, he chose poorly.

Now he's facing the consequences of his actions. Who cares if you came back dude? Your team needed you, and NOT ONCE, BUT TWICE, you forsook them.

And now you feel entitled to being upset?

No, not even a little bit.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Completely agree. Best post in this thread. +1

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This year was supposed to be about gaining back the trust

Oct 23, 2017, 3:43 PM [ in reply to I would be upset too... ]

of his peers, employer, and organization. Not getting every ball and complaining if you don't. This shows alot about his character and self awareness. He wasn't prepared for his revival. He thinks it should just all go back to normal. Now he's a goat and will be ignored for the rest of the year and probably won't get picked up by anyone bc of his attitude. Ticks me off too.. he had a ton of potential.

He needs to call a team meeting and get real humble and apologize and ask for one more chance and work his butt off to gain that trust back. And expect nothing in return. Otherwise its done.
